A few Thanks

When you have been going to the same shows,swaps,fleas and sales for as many years as I have you get to know everyone who does the same. I have a great group of fellow collector and friends out there which make the whole adventure that much more fun. The thrill of the hunt and stories of who got what or who missed that are told all thru the morning as we all pass each other while running around in the pre-morning darkness looking for that killer find either for ourselves or a potential buyer down the road. I look back at the past 27 years and man there were some great things found by everyone over the years. I think sometimes that we all have a lucky streak here and there which makes most of us happy for our finds and also for a fellow collectors score. The fact that everyone gets a find out there shopping keeps us all heading out at the crack of dawn every weekend. The next few days I want to thanks a few friend for small gifts the have found for me.

Shopping Saturday

Today I took a few shots of what turned up out there shopping the swap and a garage sale this morning.












2 Witco Tiki Lamps with shades, 4 small metal storage drawers, early tin lunchbox,1 bank money bag, 2 old (and musty smelling) Cunard line ship blankets, Bullwinkle,Rocky and Mr. Peabody Tie holder( too bad there was some damage), A lighthouse cleanser can (check the slogan), old JC Higgins tackle box with fishing gear inside, Vintage wall clock and a great wooden shipping box to put it all in.

Crate Invasion

A week ago I was able to buy a collection of crates from a fellow dealer. He hit up a local estate sale and ended up with over 100 crates. I put in a call and was able to get a good portion of them. Last night I got them out of the van and put them out for a 11:00 pm moonlight shot.



I am ready if we get a freak snow storm and need some wood for the fireplace.

Look Inside

A peek inside the front door of our place





When we moved in we moved Bob all over the house to find the best place. I made a rolling frame to make it easier and the last place we tried was inside the front door alcove. As you can see he just fit with a few inches to spare. I would have had a problem if he was the burger holding version. Its funny when people come to the door and there's a giant Big Boy smiling at them, but some don't seem to notice. Very Hot today and the past few days which makes putting things off that more easy....like blog posts.
