I KNEW it was spelled "Cooky" when I was little. I swear it was. (born 67) It was only "CookIE" when it became plural, with an S added. Then it just seemed to morph into "Cookie" all around. There are a couple of other words that did that too but I can't quite remember which ones. I'd have to see them in print to trigger the memory!
