I am always happy to find old paper with great ad characters on them. The price is usually affordable and you never know what will turn up in that pile or box of old stuff. Perging an old filing cabinet that was out in our old garage I came across this piece I had stashed away too long ago.
Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for dropping by.....

Mocha Boy #3
Finally
Today rounds out my Big Boy coffee can collection with the final can I have. This one is very similar to to number 2 with only a few changes. This can has the updated running Bobs Big boy character logo. The copyrite folks also must have decided that "boy" needed to be changed to "Boy" and then they added the registered "®" to it also. I am always looking for different can and wonder if in other parts of the states there might be other versions so the hunt continues. Thanks again for dropping by!

Mocha boy #2
Continuing with my Mocha boy coffee cans is the second version they produced.
This version has good ole Bob right there on the can not just a small graphic on the lid. This is my favorite can of the three with a great graphic of Bob holding the famous double decker. This can has the sealed top that you had to use a can opener to open and a removable plastic lid to keep the grounds fresh. I was lucky to find this can unopened and full of coffee, just in case I need a vintage coffee fix. If you missed the first can post head over to swapatorium and check out Mondays post. Have a great day see you all tomorrow.

Lighter Art
Hi Folks late post today but a post non the less.
I am always a sucker for some original artwork and when it is priced right I buy it. I have had this piece for a while and dropped it on the scanner for todays post. I have a few great track home renderings from the late 60's. I will have to dig them out and post them in the future.
Thanks for dropping by.

Plant Power
Early Bob
Today I dug out this matchbook from my Bobs Big Boy collection. You might say "Hey that's not the Bob I know" and you are somewhat correct. This version of Bob was the first they used when they started using him on for advertising. This matchbook is the earliest one I have which shows only 2 locations. I have yet to find a 1 location book but the seach is still on so maybe someday.

Are you Reddy?
This was the first advertising nodder I bought when I started to collect advertising figures . I was at the Arizona Toy show and they had another antique show in another building. I was shopping it before the day before the toy show started and came across Reddy on a table full of costume jewelery. At first look I did not even realize that it was Reddy Kilowatt since he usually is not wearing a cowboy hat and western outfit. I aksed the lady how much and she told me $15.00....SOLD. She told me that the only reason she had it was it was she bought some reddy earings and other jewelry from a lady and the nodder came with the deal. I bought it and that was the start of my advertising nodder collection. I have seen over the years that Arizona used Reddy dressed in a cowboy outfit quite a bit in their promotions. Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend.
