Dumpster Diving
Ok I admit it I cannot pass those large dumpsters people rent without at least pulling over and taking a quick peek. They used to drop them off at my old job at night and then pick them up in the morning. I usually had about 15 minutes to cross the street and take a look. Usually they were empty or full of trash but I did get a few things while I was there. So there I was heading out of my housing track and in one of the drive ways was a giant dumpster. I figured they were cleaning out the house so I stopped and talked to the guy that was doing the dumping. He was a little miffed at first but did let me go thru the dumpster and take what I wanted. Not much that time but got some early HO train stuff ,a nice old shipping crate and a few other odds and ends. That dumpster was picked up the next day. The other day a new dumpster arrive on the street so I know there must be more to come. Sure enough over the last weekend more treasures ( Junk) was filling up the bin. I did stop one night for a quick glance but started to think maybe the neighbors would not like me making noise at 10:30 pm so I cut my dig short. I finally went by yesterday and the man was there so again he let me go thru the dumpster. I got another crate a few spray snow cans and the found a nice box of travel stuff. This morning I went thru the box and Wow was there some great stuff from the area and also from florida. I took a few shots to give you and idea. I think to myself how much get dumped out never seen by us collectors. I get to go back on Friday to save about 200 issues on Popular science so look for a post after I get them home and maybe I will shoot a few undercover shots when I am in the house.

MM Tires Sights & Sounds
Also found this great 45 at the sale yesterday, I also added the music so take it for a spin
I just realized it's recorded in 33 RPM and I did it on 45 RPM. Oh well enjoy the timesaving 45 RPM version for now.

Estate Esky
I guess working nights has some advantages. If I can stay awake in the morning after dropping off my son at school I try and hit the local estate sales. Today I actually found something great for the Ad collection. It is a small celluloid Esquire Man very detailed and fragile. I have only seen a picture of one other of these a few years ago. He has some damage to his shoes but overall in good shape. I took a picture of him with another Esquire ad guy.
