Kolor Spray

I always seem to start small collections and one of them is old spray paint cans. They turn up once in a while at the local junk swap usually in a cardboard box filled with garage stuff. I try to buy the ones with the small metal caps. They had great designs on the cans which appeals to the graphic design part of me. This one has the diamond shapes and 50's colors that were used as design elements back then. Stay tuned in the future for others from my small growing collection.

EARLY OFF

Vintage Bug Repelent Container with a really pissed off flying bug on the label. The product was a brown waxy stick that you would rub on your skin for protection. Enjoy the week and keep the bugs off.

Mooo

Who out there has not seen or had one of the staples of the American household the Moo-Cow Creamer. This piece of Americana has it all: Virtually Unbreakable, dishwasher Safe, Can be used with or without the Top and best of all it was made in the good ole USA. This piece was attached to the creamer so you could see and read all it's great features. I like the minimal colors use on it but they did use 4 color printing as you can see from the slightly off color registration. The graphics are great with that little boy just working the straw to get every last drop out of his mug and the two-tone smiling cow head art. This version was made by Whirley Industries, inc. and I checked out the place and they are still around at Whirley Industries but alas no more Moo-Cow Creamers. Thanks for stopping by.

Those Eyes

These postcards all have eyes with the little pupils that move when you shake them. I remember finding them all at the same time. The backs have writing to someone refered to as "Danny Boy "or "My Little Stinker". 2 of the cards are signed Daddy. Have a great Saturday everyone.

Chicken Delight part 2

What better way to let the delivery customer know that his buckets are soon to arrive than bolting this fowl on the delivery vehicles roof. This original Chicken Delight figure is made of fiberglass with some hard coating on the outside to protect it from the weather. On the bottom is on huge bolt and nut which makes me wonder if they had company trucks? I doubt any of the delivery guys would want to drill a 3/4 hole on the roof of their cars for a chicken. Maybe someone out there delivered chicken for Chicken Delight and can clear up this question. Thanks again for dropping by.

Don't cook tonight Call Chicken Delight. Nice bold graphics from a late 60's take out menu from Chicken Delight. Is it me or does it seem funny that a chicken is serving up a plate with two of his buddys legs on it? Stay tuned tomorrow for another Chicken Delight piece of the past.

What makes one of the Big Letter postcard even better? why a cool little ad character. The Skipper is included on this vintage linen postcard from Newport Harbor California. I am not sure if he pitched a product or was the spokesman for the area. With a friendly wave and a Big white smile he welcomed all to his harbor.
