Ornament Hanger Week
That's right a whole week of those little boxes that keep those shiny glass balls where they belong. I wanted to start collecting something from the holiday and for some reason (maybe low cost and nobody I knew was also searching for them) the collection began and grew to this weeks posts.
Monday's Box
A Shiny Brite version.
Lots more to come so drop by tomorrow for a few more.

Esquire Gifts
A Holiday masonite sign promoting Esquire Gifts and featuring the Esquire Man himself. When I found this it had a small box on the back and a slot cut into on of the gift boxes. There was other writing on the tag section (The stars are not from the original sign) so I would guess some one saved from a store and used it for some other display. Us advertising collectors are always thankful to those folks back then that salvaged the displays and saved them from the trash.
Have a great day see you all tomorrow

Sprinkled with Pixie Dust
What better to send the few gifts you bought at the village than a full size package holding Santa Sac. I was floored when I found this a few years back it is probably the most unusual Santa's Village piece I have seen. The great part (other than the red burlap sac) is the attached postcard for shipping. Check out the little note from Santa and of course return postage is guaranteed.
Thanks for dropping by see you all tomorrow for another Holiday post.

Visit to Santas Village
We start off the Tikiranch Holiday month with a trip to Santas Village. Looks like 2 trips one in 1955 black and white and the other in 1956 full color
Friendly Reindeer and Storybook buildings
Looks like Santas Workshop from that big gear on the side of the shop
Water walkways and giant mushrooms to sit on
What would a village be without a giant firetruck and delivery wagon
I wonder where this delivery wagon is today, wouldn't that be a cool ride at the cruise night.
Thanks for dropping by see you all tommorow for more Holiday Cheer

Pard on me
My dog is moving.
about 6 months ago I dropped by a local antique shop and there on the wall was this incredible Pard Dog Food advertising clock. What makes it great is the dogs head poking out of the doghouse moves up and down while the clock is on. I asked the owner "How much ?". Not for sale he was keeping it, so all I could do was put it in my mental want list of rare stuff that you never see more than one of. Fast forward 3 months and it's the 3rd Sunday of the month which means Long Beach Antique and Collectible meet. I start shopping and walk up to one table and there sitting on the table is a Pard Dog Food clock just like the one at the shop. It's funny how things happen out there (at the swap meets) you take a left here or a right there and sometimes it puts you in the right place at the right time ( and sometimes just behind the person in the right place at the right time). There was one problem with the one I bought which was the part that makes the head move was missing. So yesterday I dropped by the shop that had the first one to pick up mine. Andrew the owner of the first one was able to fix mine using his as reference to recreate the parts mine needed to make it work. So a big Thanks go out to Andrew for getting my clock back together working like it should.

Comet Checkers
Nice little checkers box I picked up at the Rose Bowl Swap on Sunday. At just $1 dollar I had to have it, I mean it was only a dollar right? I have quite a few things that I bought for a dollar or less and think to myself how lucky those buys were. When you really look at it the fact that someone decided that instead of tossing the piece in the trash they brought it out for someone like me to buy. So todays post goes out to all those dealers.
"Thanks for all the neat little things that I really don't need but am very happy to have for a dollar or less."
