Lighter Art

Hi Folks late post today but a post non the less.
I am always a sucker for some original artwork and when it is priced right I buy it. I have had this piece for a while and dropped it on the scanner for todays post. I have a few great track home renderings from the late 60's. I will have to dig them out and post them in the future.
Thanks for dropping by.

That is a nice drawing. I wonder if they actually produced that as a lighter.

I am not sure, but the race car was a real car from the time.

That is quite a piece! Chapman S. Root’s father was the president of the Root Glass Company and headed the team that invented the Coca-Cola bottle. Chapman purchased what became the Sumar Special in June of 1952. The car had just finished 3rd in the previous month’s Indy 500. Chapman hired Jimmy Daywalt to drive the car. Jimmy was able to guide the car to a 6th place finish in the 1953 Indy 500. The car still exists. As an aside, the Root family has the largest Coca-Cola collection in the world.

Wow thanks for the great info about the owners. I wonder if they would have any interest in this piece?
